Last week, we looked at the 3 great signs of the coming of the Lord: 1.) Jerusalem being back in the hands of the Jews 2.) The Apostasy 3.) The Revealing of the Anti-Christ.
In Matthew 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13, Jesus gives us a list of other signs that we are to watch for regarding His coming. In Luke 21:31 Jesus says,
31 “So you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.
Here is a list of the signs He mentions. In the coming days, we will go delve into them one at a time.
- False christs
- Wars and rumors of war
- Peace taken from the earth. Nation rising against nation.
- Diseases
- Famine
- Earthquakes
- Signs in the sky that bring fear (Asteroids to hit the earth)
- Worldwide persecution of Christians
- The Apostasy
- False prophets (preying on the Church)
- Lawlessness increases, peoples’ love grows cold.
- Gospel preached to the whole world and all people groups.
- Abomination of Desolation.
- The Great Tribulation.
- Sun and moon darkened.
- Gathering of the elect.
- The coming of Jesus Christ.
It would be good to take the time to read Revelation 6-12 along with Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21. As you do, pay close attention to the way these four harmonize. Tomorrow I will begin going through each of the signs. Maranatha!
